CANVAZ II CAMPERS
« on: October 01, 2012, 01:14:21 PM »
Hi :)

My name is Christiaan.  My tag on this site is xxSVxx

I will be camping Fri and Sat night for Canvaz II.

I'm starting this thread so we can all get an idea as to who is camping and where abouts you plan on camping.  I've commented on a thread over at thenewx.org and stated over there that I'm camping to people looking for others, etc....

I'll be driving up from San Clemente that Friday afternoon and I anticipate getting to BB around 6ish...

Yellow post sounds good to me; as long as I can have a fire and a semi-flat spot to pitch my tent I'll be a very happy camper.  Pun completely intended.  :P

Post if you're camping; please include when you anticipate getting to BB....a site name/number if possible.

Let's get this thread going!!!  Can't freakin wait!!!

Well being that I'm brining my wife and tator tot, we were looking into the Serrano Campground. They have fire rings, flush toilets and showers. Roughing it I know, but the place is nice and the kids can ride bikes or scooters too. It's close to lake and a short drive to the meet spot. I think its $25 a night. 35 for a double spot, that includes two vehicles and up to 8 people. Plenty of shade too, but we'll all be out during the day so not a big issue.  We may get a single spot with room for 2 tents. A second vehicle would then be $5 extra if someone wants to split the costs to keep it cheap. I get off work at 430 on Friday but should be there by 7ish Friday night.

I'll be camping and its just me for this run and Im off all day and will be coming up from Fallbrook so I can head up anytime. Im open to any place but the Serrano Campground sounds abit nicer. I've done the wild camp thing and been deployed so some simple things like a flushing tolet sounds nice lol

I'm down to camp were the majority of the campers are going to be.  Drinking alone is a sign that your an alcoholic, so I try to keep it social.  I think it would be great to keep all the campers together, can share campsites to save a few bones and would think it would help with the comaraderie of members to include spouses and chitlins if were are all together.  Nothing like sharing a meal, beer and conversastion around a campfire to bring people together.

Anybody know the altitude of Serrano?  A stayed at Barton Flats at the end of May, and all week the temps stayed in the lower 60's at night all week.  First night up there and the weather turned on us and dropped to 28f.  That was a cold night.  The chihuahua earned his place that night by sleeping in the foot of my sleeping bag, kept the toes from freezing off.

Well then I'll make sure I bring extra... ;D

I'll call the park today and see if I can't get a few sites reserved for our  group. How many vehicles so far?

Give me your totals, vehicle & people so I can get an accurate count. I'll see if I can book them but somebody will have to check in on Friday early in the day and save me a spot, since I won't be up there til 7ish.

I'll try get doubles and singles next to each other to keep the costs as low as possible. Let me know if you already have an idea if you want to share a spot with specific member/family.

Sounds right for me.

I'll get the info and $$ estimate And give it a few more days in case we have any stragglers.

Yeah, give it a little....there's a few guys on thenewx.org that were asking about camping, so I'm going to try to get them to post on this thread so we can get a bigger group together....because bigger is always better ;)~

For me:

- 1 rig
- 5 people (2adults/3children)
- 1 circus tent

I could probably volunteer to be up there early on Friday.  I should be getting that day off.
