So back in March I took delivery of my PRG Advanced Coilover Kit for my 2010 Pro4X and... it's sat there... taunting me...
I've been flying around the planet a lot for work lately and had no time to play or install. Now I'm home until July 15th. I'm looking for a place to "get 'er done" since I don't have all the right tools / jack stands / etc.
I pay well in food and beverages of your choosing if someone is willing to put up with me for a few hours while we put this together, especially if they've done this dance already.
I'm good pretty much any day but Mondays and Wednesdays, and next Tuesday the 18th.
I appreciate the help!

You just missed the epic duffman mod day. But I'm sure we can setup another one, not as epic considering the amount of sheer modding space the duffman has but the right tools and a little knowledge fit in almost any driveway. Where abouts are you in killa Cali?

I'm up in Running Springs, between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear. I'm actually contemplating the Santiago run. I'm bummed I missed the mod day but the trip I was on had been planned for a while.
-
I can help put them on. I just got back from Arizona myself from a construction site. Just need to find a place to do it.

I may just go buy a floor jack and some stands. From what I've been reading, other than some c-clamps for the leaf springs, everything else is pretty straight forward. The dealer already did the taper bolts up front for the alignment, so that's not an issue. I am tossing a coin on whether to cut the one bolt on the steering column or just unbolt and disconnect it for the left upper swap out.
-
After much mulling it over and a few phone calls, I've decided to have ORW down in Temecula do the install since they can take care of the alignment at the same time.
Kevin Knight, the manager of that store, cut me a nice deal on the install plus the alignment labor. I'll be sitting in their store starting at 9am on the 28th for 4-6 hours if you are in the area.
-
Good call on ORW in Temecula. I've spent so much money in that store its ridiculous. Dez and Aaron are the ones I go to with tech questions and product info and they never disappoint with their customer service.
-
Thanks for the word. I'm looking forward to getting things done :)
Gonna be a long day. Bringing my folding chair, a book and my laptop just in case.

Wow... the guys at ORW released the NASCAR Ninja Pit Crew Flying Monkies today. They opened the doors at 9am, my xTerra was in the back by 920am, and at 1130am I walked out of the store, the PRG 4WD Advanced Coilover Kit installed, wheels aligned, and test driven. Love the service there.
Soooo anyone need my old stock parts?

I will eventually. I wanted to offer it to family first. :)

Pics or it didn't happen :D
I'm looking to do something similar in the near future.
What exactly did you order from PRG and how was the experience?
Also, what was the damage for the ORW install.
***disclaimer*** If you don't want to share I won't be offended!

Pics forthcoming. I didn't sleep the night before so when I got home I just "died". I'll try and get some up today.
I got THIS KIT (http://www.prgproducts.com/shop/product/4wd_advanced_coilover_kit/) from Greg at PRG. I called and spoke to him on the phone for a bit asking questions etc. He likes to talk. :) He cut me a nice deal on the package and I remember getting the stuff from Radflow pretty quickly and then he was backed up on some parts at the time and I think I got his stuff a week or so later. Good guy, nice to deal with.
I paid about 480 for the install, plus couldn't help but pick up a couple toys while there in the candy store. The ORW guys were awesome and very friendly. I can't believe how quick I was in and out. I will happily do business with them again and again. :)

Good choice on the kit. And I will second the advice to call Greg, yes he talks but he's got a lot of knowledge and he will discount the prices for us socal guys because we are "locals" and his prices include shipping which won't be as much since we are close.
Good deal on the install, hope to see you out on the trails.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate the response! I will call him when I'm ready to pull the trigger.

Nice job John, congrats on the lift install, I know you have been waiting a while for this.
Post up some pics here and definitely in your build thread when you have time. :)
