THOSE ARE FREAKING AWESOME!!!!

If you move it, to another date, I can see if we can install it at the shop in Fullerton. We have three projects going right now.
Are you reusing your stock coil or did it came with new coil?

I have a Big Bear camping trip that is set for over Labor Day that I would love to have my stuff installed for. I could move it up to this Sunday, but I don't think that helps us very much!
As for the shocks, there are 2.5" Radflos hiding in the box on the right hand side of the first pic.

So the box has the front shocks and coils assembled, right?
You are all welcome here in Fallbrook on the 11th or the 17th, no problem. If more guys can come on the 11th, maybe that would be better. Or if anyone else has a mod to do, let us know which day is best.

YESSIR! Coils assembled and ready for action!
The 17th would be much better for me if that is okay.
So, can I change the title? MOD DAY: August 17th LOCATION CONFIRMED!

Hey guys,
Look what the UPS man brought me!

Thank you, sir!
Updated the original post.

Ooooh. This is getting interesting. I have an M226 that I want to install. Anyone done this before? Seems relatively straightforward. Hopefully we get enough helping hands.

That would be really cool to see! I can offer no mechanical assistance other than holding flashlights and lifting heavy things. OH and supplying "refreshments"
Would this be the first socal frontier / socal xterra mod day?!?!?
-
ohhh and i do have all the parts for my t-swap in except for the shocks. i ordered them today. if i get them in time i may also be attending!
-
As long as its a frontier m226 I think it should be pretty straight forward, no welding or fab needed.

I'm sure we could find something ready to fall off my X. ;D

Dammit. I meant M205.
Have new nuts bolts and what not as well as the titan half shafts and cvs. I even have a titan front driveshaft that I have no use for.

I meant M205 actually.
And this would be my second mod day with SCCX. The first was when Lava helped me out with my Titan swap (suspension only). That was before SoCal Frontiers.
-
Even easier :-)
Geez I need to find a money tree or something. I want to mod my truck. titan swap, find an m205, front and rear gears, an arb front locker, 35's, and skid plates. At least my bumper should be finished in a week or 2.

I think you meant to add Ryan. In any case, add me too for a diff swap and other odds and ends. I have a pass tail light, third brake light, and head lights sitting in the garage.

FIXED (I think)

Looking forward to helping out however I can!!!
:)

Now THIS is what I call a Mod Day!
Plan on bringing your own jack-stands and tools. If you think that you might need some special tool, just ask. Odds are someone will bring it for you. I have air tools, torque wrench, back-up tools and a floor jack. We might need one more floor jack. Let's talk about what we need, and can bring. Mostly a good time ;)
-
I should of never doubted SCCX!
It may be time for a HappyTerra pic. HMMMM
Regarding bringing your own tools, jackstands ect... Can I bring refreshments in leu of tools?
(I have a drill and mountain bike related tools only)
As people start updating their "bring" list, I will update the 1st post.
-
I will bring 4 Jack stands, floor jack, and tools, also will bring along my sawzall for those stubborn bolts :-)

I have a floor jack from the last mod day that hasn't left the back of my rig.
And a righteous set of ratchet tools man....I can fix it!
-
Yep, hopefully I have everything I'll need. I don't anticipate needing anything special.
-
Christiaan...don't forget your lug wrench. ;)

Sliders will be the easy install. Maybe someone can weld them on.

This is what a MOD DAY is all about. ;D

I finally have a weekend off so I wouldn't mind coming down to help out. I'm not the best turning wrenches but I've helped do a few lift installs. If nothing else it's an excuse to pick peoples brains about a Titan Suspension swap.

285/75/R16 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO
Think those will rub? *opens can of worms and is told to search you freakin' newb* Or is that only on TNX?
I think I'm going to get them from Discount Tire
http://www.americastire.com/dtcs/cart/addOptionalCartItemToCart.do?cartItemId=-387172341&r=CAOINT%7Cpc%7C92870
They've also got duratracs for around the same price
-
Do you have stock wheels? If yes then they will fit as long ad you do what they call the melt mod, take a hair dryer or heat gun if you have one and turn the wheels. There's a little bump in the plastic that is close to the tires for no reason, just heat the plastic and push it back and hold til it cools, don't completely melt the plastic you just want to make it soft. This can be done prior to getting tires and more if needed after. Or just do it all after tires it won't be too bad on the drive home from the tire shop.

Will they rub the whole time or just when turning the wheel? (pre melt mod)

I was going to get one from Harbor Freight, but if yours is super then well, I'm going with super
Torro recommended that I get 2 Dewalt 5/16 drill bits and a can of WD40 to put on my sliders. I'm going to go pick that up tonight. Should I get a smaller size to make a pilot hole?
-
So drinks and snacks? I'll rustle up some adult beverages and munchies. I assume we'll order something for a real meal or is grilling an option.

Good idea!
I know I'm going to owe someone beer so I'll bring some.

Steve: A few 1/8" bits are always a good idea. And like Toro said, good quality, don't scrimp here :'(
If anyone is expecting any help and such, we are expecting food and such. Pizza Man doesn't deliver here in the sticks, but I do have a back-up pizza in the freezer. No worries.

A) that pizza guy came 8in from totaling your rig....i still have nightmares about that (he needs to learn how to better follow)
B) same pizza guy has a 5-6in screw in his drivers side rear tire.......ugh
C) that damn same pizza guy is trying to not be a one trick pony....thus he's working on his 2nd masterpiece...so he was planning on just bringing grill material
-
Yea that was fun, if that were a cliff I would have had my front tires over the edge dangling.

Just talked to Greg today. He said he will be getting them by early next week

Sorry Paul, no grill. Just bring pre-cooked stuff. Or I gotta oven if we want to heat stuff up. Thanks for offering.
We will have plates, cups, silverware and homemade lemonade!
That sucks Ryan! You're still more than welcome to come for the fun :D
-
Yes Ryan. Come help me with my diff swap. I already have the titan suspension components so you can get a look at what you'll be in for with your swap.

See ya guys in the morning! Let the wrenching begin :D

What a great time!
Thank you to everyone who helped me. And Mr. Duffer for hosting.
I am worn out.
I will post a better recap in the morning

We arrived late, around 3:45...and aside from a few hiccups with Paul's Frontier, a great time was had by all. Steve C. installed his lift with Randy's help and guidance, and Paul was able to get his M205 diff installed along with new half axles. The diff was dry, so he also added some Lucas oil 75W-90W, and then we all sat around and chewed the shop rag and talked SCCX.
Nice to see everyone in attendance, and a special thanks to Randy & Nilda for offering their wonderful home again for Mod Day.
Until next time!

cupcakes looked tasty :)

Cup cakes were definitely tasty! Thanks Jordan.
Thanks to Nick for all the help yesterday.
So, I need to replace the pass side half axle. There are 3 choices on Rock Auto. Anyone know which one i should get? Should I procure from somewhere else?
Here's the Rock auto link.

Had a great time Yesterday. Thanks for hosting us Randy, and thanks to everyone for welcoming in a new guy into the group.
It was no problem Paul, I had fun doing it , thanks for answering all my questions in regards to the Titan Swap.
In regards to the CV axle, Cardone is the major CV axle remanufacturer and most auto parts stores sell their products as original equipment replacements so I'd say go with one of those.
-
I figured cardone would be the appropriate choice. Next question: thermoplastic or neoprene boot? I'm not sure what is stock but I've read that the thermoplastic is not as malleable and crack over time.
Thanks Randy and Nilda for hosting.
-
Probably the neoprene boot. Never had an issue with the factory neoprene boot on our Rhinos or RZR.
-
Not themoplastic.

Lookin good Steve. Hanging out with you guys makes me want to get an X. They look really good lifted with steel bumpers, cargo racks, lights, and beefy tires.
Been trying to convince the wife that an X would be much better than her Forester; but, it's not working.
