Just wanted to alert the masses to the fact that SCCX is the proud home to no less than

23 Ham Operators!!

Great job everyone...improved and emergency comms when on the trail make SCCX a force to be contended with!
(well, maybe just clearer comms so we can find a lunch spot on the trail.)

Group of "cool kids" in front of "big antennas"

Never heard of "ham radio?"  Inspired by all the pictures and lure of crystal clear comms for over 100 miles??

Well done John ;)
I never use my CB except on trail runs.  But I do use the Ham to listen to my local repeater while driving.  Two days ago I'm chating to a buddy about firewood and some other guy says he has all I can take for free.  Sometimes it's COOL to be on an 'open' channel ;D
