Title: Overlook Camping Ideas

Does anyone have any good spots in the SoCal area where you can park next to a nice overlook to camp for a night or two? Ideally something higher in altitude to get a good view bellow.

Do you need an established camp ground with bathrooms and water?

No...just a cool place to drive up to and spend the night with the wife and enjoy the day at. I can bring everything.

I love Ball Flat or Pinon Ridge. Both are just outside of Wrightwood near Jackson Lake. There are no established facilities campfires are illegal but the views are nice. Pinon Ridge is the better spot and the dirt road out there is more fun for your X. There are quite a few established campgrounds in the area too. Table Mountain is a good spot and there are some nice views within the campground. PM me if you're interested in more info about Wrightwood. There is going to be a chili cook off and Jeep rally up there on Saturday too.

Thanks for the info. We went beach camping this past weekend and will be checking out Pinon Ridge in the next few weeks. I'll PM you if I have any questions. Thanks again
