I was over at the Harbor Freight and saw this shovel (http://www.harborfreight.com/27-716-in-round-nose-mini-shovel-with-d-handle-69826.html)
Felt pretty sturdy, thought I'd share. Not bad for $7.99

I had their larger shovel and it snapped the first time I tried to dig a hole with it. The actual metal head snapped where it attaches to the handle, not the handle itself. To be fair, it was very hard dirt I was trying to dig. I wonder if this one is the same metal head, or if it's a different one since it's a smaller shovel.
With a HF 20% off coupon (which you can find in like 10 seconds if you just do a google search), it's only $6.39. For that price, I suppose it's worth a shot. I just wouldn't want to get stranded somewhere one day and really need it, only to have it break. Especially since a really good shovel is only like $20 or $25.
