I am going to be purchasing a roof top bag within the next month and was looking for input for those that own them. I am looking for something waterproof and I do have a roof rack if that makes any difference.

I'm in the same boat: I have a dephep roof rack and some straps to tie down some larger stuff, but am looking towards a roof box/bag to allow for more things that I can throw up there. It seems a hard plastic/metal box would be more durable, but a soft bag would compress nicely into the roof rack when not in use, so I could keep it up there permanently. Then the only question is how would the long term durability be.
I don't have any personal experience with the bag/company yet, but I just saw this: http://www.roofbag.com/ (http://www.roofbag.com/). It looks like it's based here in San Diego, so I'll definitely support it if the bags work.

I think I am going to go with the RoofBag that you were looking at. Waterproof, not water resistant, is a big selling point. That price is hard to beat also and seeing that it is local I wont have to ship it. Thanks for the help. Good luck with your search.

Alex, thanks that's a really nice site you posted!

Nice! If I had my tape measure with me I'd go out right now and measure which one of the two bags (11 cu.ft. = 40" x 36.5" x 17" or 15 cu.ft. = 48" x 38" x 18") fits on top of the 1st Gen (and it's probably fairly similar for the 2nd Gen). :D One of the two should be a pretty good fit I think.
Dang, the interior width of my dephep rack is 31", maybe could push in 32" or 33" because it's a soft case, but 36.5" would be too wide. Hmmm, I guess I'm gonna ask them to see if they do custom ones!
