Just a heads up fellow SCCX'ers...I took my 10# Powertank to be filled today and was informed that it needed to be re-certified and pressure checked every five years.
Since my tank manufacture date was 2011, I need to send it in.
My understanding is it will be a $10 certification that comes with a CO2 fill...but takes 4 weeks to complete.

Also wanted to refer anyone who needs CO2 service in North San Diego County to Matheson Tri Gas in San Marcos...very friendly guys there. Most welding supply houses will only exchange or do fills with a 48 hour turn around. Matheson Tri Gas will fill on the spot, just remember to remove your handle and regulator beforehand for them.

If you visit, ask for Jacob. He also filled my 5# propane tank in very short order, and their propane price was under $3.00 a gallon.

Cal-tool in Riverside is $1 a pound and will do fill while-you-wait CO2 service.

Yep, any high pressure tanks(welding gas, scuba, co2) need a hydrostatic test every 5 years, had to do it quite a bit when I used to work at a paintball field with all the co2 and 4500psi compressed air tanks.
