Few people showed interest when I meantioned it at the last run so here's my post from clubfrontier. I won't likely keep this one updated so check up CF for details but ill do my best to keep this one posted!
So it seems the camp/desert season will be starting here soon( but not soon enough)
. Planning a trip to glamis for Halloween opening weekend. Anyone's welcomed to come and have a blast!
I wouldn't recommend a 2wd out at glamis if youv never been. Now it's 100% do able but it is tricky!! Ill probably be one of the few 2wd out there and iv got open diff so it's doable ya just gotta know how to drive.
Extreme caution will be needed!!! Cannot stress this enough! Caution caution caution there are plenty of idiots and DUI's out there!
Where: gecko, loop 2 at glamis
When: Friday the 1st,2nd, and leave on Sunday the 3rd(Friday is the day AFTER Halloween)
Why: opening weekend for desert season
Sand drags possibly Fridays at dusk, Saturday fer sher 100% drags!!!
Oldsmobile Hill possibly Friday, most likely Saturday night tho after dinner. These are basically the 2 reasons I like these busy weekends..
Anyone bringing toys? Sand rail, bike, quad anything! Ill probably leave my bike at home on this one unless others are bringing some
Who's Joining:
Rabs1755 (Robert)
My pops in a jeep (Bob)
A Few Things You'll Need:
1. Obviously camping gear
2. A flag/whip is mandatory to drive. They are availible at the "stores" out there if you forget/break one or in the market for a cool one. They got it all
3. Shovel
4. Recovery gear because it is sand!
5. Camping permit. I heard rumors last year that the off site permits were not gunna be sold off site in 2013, just when up arrive at the ranger station BUT off-site is $25 for a week or on-site $40 for a week. I will stop at the Von's on my way out and see if they have any..(safest place to purchase em and know there real, as iv had fakes from the tire shop out there..)
6. Plenty of water and food
7. Extra gas can full. I usually never need the extra because I top off before heading outta the last town but I usually don't have company meaning little offroading.
If you require a fairly quite place to sleep I do not recommend joining as there will be someone at every hour day or night hauling *** past and you WILL wake up!
Also there will be ALOT OF PEOPLE something like 20,000 people between gecko and Gordon's Well. So it'll be busy to say the least but damn is it a blast!
I know I'm missing things, good thing is its a ways away so as I remember ill update the post
