Maybe getting a new-ish rig
« on: October 12, 2013, 07:58:24 AM »
Been in the market for a new rig for a while. I brought all three of my kids home from the hospital in the X, so I'm never getting rid of it.
After seeing Steevo's, I took a closer look at the Titan and I really liked it..... a little more than I thought I would. My whole crew fits comfortably in it and some real towing power is appealing.
     Does anyone speak Titan?

Titans are nice.  Having a full bed is nice too.

Before you do it go try the dodge mega cab. It's super nice and roomy

It's roomy, it tows and doesn't cost $50K

I tow the pathfinder with it on occasion and it's totally fine. I had that thing LOADED DOWN going to and from GONE earlier this year and it was totally fine.
I feel the pathfinder back there with gear (about 8K pounds) but still tows nice... My Titan is bone stock and has the 2.94 gears in it.. tows when I need it to and get good MPG the rest of the time.

on long highway trips using cruise control I can get 21/22 MPG (not towing & unloaded)

Titan Swap?  ;D

I spoke to the two Titan owners (missed Steven) at GONE the last couple of years, and they love them.  Personal experience comes from owning a 2003 Tundra 4x4, and it was a great truck.  You could play ping pong in the cab on long trips, and it towed a 4,000 lb. pop up trailer fully loaded with the family (pre-dissolution  :D) to Yosemite and back, no sweat.  My mileage in the Tundra was better than the X swapped and locked.

Once again, I must state for the record: We are not a club, we are enablers for your addiction.

Im looking at a 2007-2009. The one I looked at was 4wd and had the tow package (3.36) and diff lock. We have always gone exploring and having 4wd is almost a must. I intend on keeping her bone stock and keeping the ride as comfy and squishy as possible. Having true towing power is apealing.  I plan on picking up a camping trailer some time in the future. Ill also have the Samurai built and would like to tow it........and who knows how big the X will get.....
The guy at the dealer seamed real honest and pointed out the MPG and just made me aware of that. I laughed at him and told him it gets better milage than my V6 X.
               He looked confused.
