Mike you MUST post a price and should post pics.  Otherwise you look like spam.  Thank you.

Sorry to hear that. Makes me nervous about when I have to rebuild. I have 227,000 miles on mine. I know the time will come.

My advice is you get what u pay for.    I had a friend who insisted he knew what he was doing and could keep the cost down.    you wont get by for anything under 4.   and certainly not a warranty.    make sure they use Nissan approved break-in oil.      I would consider a low mileage engine as an alternative.     the problem I originally encountered was letting it run hot.   its not that I blew gaskets, or fried the engine from lack of oil. per se.
during teardown the first time, it was found that I had a severe case of oil coking (oil formed shellac).   generally this occurs from too hot oil, sitting in one spot, or the use of inferior oil.  I am guilty of not using a top line oil.   (atleast in aviation, this is how it occurs)  (in many cases from not utilizing a cool down period after intense use).     I don't know if s/c engines benefit or need one or not.

(as a last note,  since I wasn't present during the reconditioning of the block the first time,  I really have no idea if all the oil passages were cleaned out  :(

Well.  Hopefully this makes someone's day.   I have got to sell my x and get it off the property by this Sunday.  So my lowest price is now $1400.    See the post above for details and pictures.    If I did this post incorrectly again, I apologize.  I am still learning.  Mike
