Gobi Ladder Group Buy: $169.99 (Thanks to beedee)
« on: September 12, 2017, 04:19:10 PM »
Hello everyone, beedee reached out to Trail Duty, the company responsible for the last group buy.  They stated we will be able to purchase ladders at the group buy price until the end of September.  All thanks goes to him.

I just heard back from Trail Duty and they will honor the $169.99 price (Thanks @Mr. Bills for suggesting that I reach out to them), but Gobi are likely backed up 6-8 weeks he said. I'm waiting to hear back from him regarding a special promo-code or what not that you would enter at check out.

Wow, great discount.

Is there any conventional wisdom on which side to put the ladder on?  I expect to keep the stock rear bumper for the foreseeable future.  Most online pics show it on the passenger side.

People put them on the passenger side if they have an aftermarket bumper with a tire swing-away mount.  I kept my spare in the factory position and put the ladder on the driver's side.  That way my rear view is not obstructed.

I'm also debating on which side to go with. This sounds super lame, but I don't want to obstruct my Pro-4x badge on the rear hatch, so maybe I'll go drivers side.

That's not lame at all. Another thing to consider is whether or not it obstructs your rear view camera. There is a reason Gobi makes both sides. :)

I'm personally running a passenger side ladder, but it was just a visual preference for me. I also thought I MIGHT want to add a tire carrier back to my bumper one day (had one before, didn't like it, but things change), so at least the ladder is in the correct place already. Plus, if I ever decide to pull it off and sell it, there is a larger potential market for the passenger side since it'll work with a lot of people's tire carrier bumpers.

Either way, you can't go wrong. It'll look nice and work great!

Zoikes!  The camera!

I would have been seriously bummed if I'd ruined the view from that.  Thanks for mentioning it.  Whew!

My driver's side ladder does not obstruct the camera.

I had a ladder on the passenger side, didn't really obstruct the view at all, not sure about the rear camera since I don't have one in the stock location of the newer trucks.  My problem with the ladder is I need a ladder to get up to the ladder so it was kinda pointless, now I just climb up the truck.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know there has been issues going on with the fitment of the ladders. So far 5 members on TNX have received their Passenger Side ladders with a Drivers Side hanger. We have been in contact with Gobi and Trail Duty, for updates please refer to this thread, and the first post. I make updates to that first post as they come in.
