Snorkel (raised air intake)
« on: April 26, 2010, 03:45:13 PM »
So Oz inspired me to make my own instead of handing out over $250 for a premade one. Total cost was about $100. It may not be the prettiest thing, but dang it-it's functional!

The top of the snorkel head sits about 1" below the roof rack line, the pictures make it look higher than it really is. I will not be making anymore of these.

;D So cold Oz, next you will have my Kangaroo emblem pooping.  Well, if something ever happens to my snorkel - I will go your route, those snorkels look good, just need to paint the clamps black - along with mine too.

Remeber Kyle that drilling that hole is for a better cause.  You have to see your X as a toy meant to be played with and enjoyed.

I'd like to do the same snorkel project. How did you go about it?  Call me or pm me. nine-o-nine, two two seven-four six two one.

i bought 3" OD 16 gauge metal and cut/welded it all together. bought a safari snorkel head online for $50 and used some flex tube for inside the fender. the 90 degree bend out of the fender is a cobra head. i'd build more of these for $250 if there was enough interest.
