I know a lot of people here enjoy taking road trips, so I thought I would post a few pictures from our latest one. I've put this in the Off Topic forum since we drove the Hyundai Santa Fe instead of the Xterra for this trip. (I was not sure the Xterra would fit into the downtown San Francisco parking garage we had to use.)
We drove up to San Francisco on the Friday after Thanksgiving, spent 4 nights there, and then took 3 days to drive back down the coast to San Diego. We were going to take 5 days to get home, but the rain got heavy towards the end, so we came back early. Here are a few pictures, and there are some posts on my blog with more.
San Francisco - Legion of Honor in the late afternoon fog.
San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge from the Marin Headlands.
Point Bonita Lighthouse. This alone was worth the trip.
Driving through the one-lane tunnel on Bunker Road.
On the road out to Point Reyes in the late afternoon fog.
Point Reyes Lighthouse.
Pigeon Point Lighthouse.
Moonrise at Monterey Bay.
Bixby Creek Bridge (Big Sur) on CA-1 in the rain.
Big Sur coast highway CA-1 in the rain and fog (and a stiff wind too).
Monarch butterflies wintering in Pismo Beach.
