Impromptu Gold Mountain Run - Friday July 5th
« on: July 03, 2013, 08:51:44 PM »
Thought I would cross post this here in case people didn't see SoCalXTerry's comments on the AAT thread for this Saturday the 6th.

Meeting up late morning in Big Bear (10-11am) and going out to run Gold Mountain for the day.  Take it from me...stock Xs "can" make it, buuuut you will probably leave something behind.

Right now it's just Terry and myself, with a "maybe" friend of his daughters in a Jeep.

Anyone else want to come and play?

Yeah, you might want to review THIS thread before looking at Gold Mountain stock.  It *can* be done but you *will* have some... unplanned mods.

Running it today even found a few challenges but all went well.

SoCalXTerry and I met up at our usual spot at Von's in Big Bear this morning about 1030-1045.  He had his daughter with him and Destiny was tagging along with me.  Had a good run.  A couple of the obstacles seem to have deteriorated a little.  We did get some great pics which I'll get later from Destiny and upload and I'm sure Terry will push his up when he gets back from this weekend's AAT happiness.

Minor carnage on the trail as Terry broke his front right half shaft on an uphill obstacle after the talus slope.  That same obstacle (or something just before it) claimed my left rear tire with a sidewall puncture.  Made it fun trying to get through, but a little help from Mr. Towstrap and all was well.  Rest of the run went great.

Love my lift.  Love my armor.  Really love my sliders. :P

See you guys for the AAT fun Saturday Morning. :)
