Big Bear Trail Clean-up Oct. 16, 2010

JeepPatrol.net is putting on a slow-paced and relaxing Trail clean-up starting at the Big Bear Discovery Center in Big Bear Lake, CA.  Jeep patrols will be assigned to small goups cleaning different trails.  Check-in:  7:30-9:30am     1st patrol leaves at 8:30am/Last patrol leaves at 9:30am     Mini-Expo, Entertainment, and refreshments:  3:45pm     Raffle prize drawing:  4:30pm      Post-patrol BBQ:  $6 person      FREE EVENT STICKERS, EVENT BASEBALL CAP/TOTE/WATER BOTTLE, BIB BEAR 4X4 AREA MAP, TWO (2) RAFFLE TICKETS, BACKCOUNTRY 4X4 EXPLORER PUBLICATION

The event is twofold.  First is clean the trails of easily removable trash.  Second is to have all the participants out in the backcountry enjoying the beauty of the forest in a relaxing environment.  The calm pace will allow everyone to take photos and take in the sights.  The idea is to help everyone devlop a sense of caring for the backcountry by responsible use.  This is a significant event for the area so there will be EXTENSIVE MEDIA COVERAGE.

I wish I could go; it sounds like a great event. I have to help the parents with yardwork and building stuff.

As of right now, the fam and I are going.  Not sure what time we will leave in the am tomorrow since we will be leaving from San Pedro.
