I've done Gold Mtn, It's hell but doable if you put the rest of your slider bolts in.  You DID put the rest of the bolts in, didn't you Steve?  Or is that going to come after the $20 CB? ;)  Forget about Holcomb, only the devil goes there for punishment.  Jacoby is nice and pretty with just enough rocks to break in your new mods.  The price for not having your own comms is that EVERYONE will make fun of you relentlessly ;D

Well...that brings up a point....I was telling a friend about this today at lunch and it dawned on me; how may people are going to be on these runs do you think?  Randy led us on Jacoby for CANVAZ II and it was a great run...like 8 or 9 rigs....but if there are a ton of rigs...it's gonna take 9 hours for every single truck to do even the most basic of obstacles....

Thoughts?

I don't think he is going to have any problems. First he will match up the capability of the rigs and drivers to the trails.

You aren't going to get a bone stock X over Gold Mtn. very quickly(Strapping and all).   But I'm thinking Jacoby(3N61) and 3N08http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d109/FishPOET/Maps/3N08.jpg
AAT awards BBQ Scheduled for September 28th (Need idea who is coming)
are marked as blue trails and are actually quite easy and very doable for a stock 4x4 in a reasonable length of time.

Also there is nothing that says we can't venture off and find a little bit for everyone.   Like off our favorite AAT 2N02  There are all kinds of options to take advantage of.

Just sayin'

P.S.   Sorry that link doesn't look like it works (Steve 3N08 is a right turn about 1.5 miles above Hanna Flat Campground.

Randy leading me over my first legitimate obstacle on Jacoby Canyon....didn't really tackle any on Rattlesnake Canyon since we have 9001 rigs that day...

Well if it is the 3N08 that I am thinking about there isn't even one of those.  The only thing that made it interesting both times I did it was when it had rained the day before and we had some off camber mud issues that made my passenger pucker up a little.

I'm afraid i have to back out of the festivities Saturday.  I have to get somethings ready for my mom to move in with my sister next week.

Sorry.  I was really looking forward to the day in the mountains.

It was a beautiful day up in the mountains. Terry, Tom and I went on a nice nice drive, then a goat path led by Danny at So. Cal. Broncos. Back at the Discovery Center we met up with Steve and his friend Will, got our goodie bags, had a Mexican lunch, and then they handed out the awards. Ranger Greg stated some very nice words about our group as Terry, Tom and I accepted the certificate for our group in the Adopt A Trail Program, and we just missed out on the trophy for 5th place in hours. At least the CJ's beat out the Jeeps.
