Topic: Otay Mountain

Recently I went to the top of Otay Mountain. While driving the gravel road I seen some trails that said "Non-Designated Route" on those State brown sticks. Does this mean I can NOT drive on them or that they are just not a designated trail? I know there is a CBP presence up there and didn't want to tread where I am not allowed. I figured I would ask one of them, but on my decent I never saw them again to ask. So does anyone here have the answer to my question?

I'll paraphrase a little but non designated trails are not open to motorized vehicle traffic. This is to protect the habitat from further erosion or wear. The forestry department still has main trails open but the "off-shoots" or side trails in many open areas are closed to traffic. I tried to find a link on the intarweb but came up blank in my 10 secs of searching.

Okay thank you SD_Frontier. I didn't want to tread where I am not allowed to. Where I would wheel in WA State the trails are marked better with colored signs.
