Solo Wheelin' Sherman Pass 8/24/09
« on: August 27, 2009, 11:43:22 AM »
Wish I could have made Big Bear. Looked like a lot of fun. Sucks having Sundays/Mondays as a regular days off. Made the best of it and went to the Southern Sierra instead and wheeled Monday afternoon. [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

That looks like a fun trail.  How hard was it to go through on your own?

Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Not too bad, Brian. Just took it slow. The scariest parts are in the first couple of miles. The trail getting up to the first ridge is narrow, steep and rocky. After that it's a cruiser with a couple of fun rock gardens. I think some X folks went up to Sherman Pass on Memorial Day Weekend and posted some pics. You may want to get their take on it too if you're thinking about going up.

I went Mem Day - Wheeled it from the other direction, pretty area & ya the first part (west end) has some pucker factor. Was there many other rigs?

Lightspur:

No other rigs. Guess if I messed up I'd still be there. Not real bright wheelin' alone. But I've been accused of worse ;^)
