I was just made aware of this event in Temecula, which is happening on August 8th from 2pm to 10pm at the Promenade Mall. Looks like it could be a huge a bro-fest, but might be fun to attend. Plus it's like 4 miles from my house. I'm not seeing anything that says the event is free,
so I'm presuming there is an admission fee, but I can't find how much it is. It's also a bummer that there is a serious lack of overland/expedition presence at this festival, as I totally consider it part of the "dirt lifestyle." The 'show and shine' event doesn't even feature a category I could enter my Xterra under, in my opinion. Best I can tell, it's a car show for off-road vehicles, with some vendors and a bunch of family-friendly activities and live music.
The family and I originally had plans to go camping that weekend (trying to make up for our camping trip from hell a few weekends ago), but it's looking like a few people can't make it and we might cancel the trip entirely. If we end up not going, I'll be hitting up this event to see what it's all about. Anyone else interested in checking it out?
Edit: they have a facebook page too, for those of us who are into utilizing the book of faces:

Plenty of "family friendly" activities, according to their posts from 2014
