Just saw this article in the newspaper. I know that a lot of folks here like to camp in and around the Big Bear area, so I figured I'd share. Unfortunately, the newspaper has a paywall, so I had to copy and paste:

Signs with the U.S. Forest Service logo that warn campers in the San Bernardino Mountains of a “Satanic Cult” that sacrifices animals and of missing people are a hoax.
“The is not an official Forest Service sign, and there is no known threats of this type to visitors,” the San Bernardino National Forest says.
The false rumors of the cult activity have spread on social media.
Zach Behrens, a spokesman for the San Bernardino National Forest, said he is aware of such a sign being posted on a gate at Jenks Lake.
The signs say, in large capital letters, “Unsafe area/visitor assumes all risk.” They go on to say: “Attention campers: Due to Satanic Cult activity in the area, camping is not advised until further notice.”
They say pets have been sacrificed in satanic rituals and that several missing-person reports have been filed. Supposedly affected areas included Angelus Oaks and Barton Flats.
The San Bernardino National Forest asked that anyone with information about who posted the signs to call the agency at 909-383-5651.
