Trona Pinnacles - this weekend (02/20 - 02/21)
« on: February 19, 2021, 05:44:45 PM »
I realize it's short notice, but the family and I have decided that we are going to camp overnight at the Trona Pinnacles this weekend, and I wanted to throw it out to the group. We'll be leaving tomorrow morning (Saturday, 2/20). If anyone is interested in joining, you can meet us at the Pilot truck stop at the 395/I-15 interchange tomorrow morning. We'll be departing from the Pilot at 0900. Alternatively, you can just come out there and find us. Not sure exactly where we'll be set up, but it'll be somewhere within the Pinnacles (maybe even a little further south than the restroom area, just to get away from any other groups that may be there).

If I know that you're coming and know roughly when to expect you, I can also monitor the Ham and guide you in to where we are.

???

Things are a bit spontaneous these days. It was a great trip. Very windy when we got there, but thankfully it died down before the sun set, and it ended up being a gorgeous evening.

I finally got around to downloading a few photos from this trip. I didn't take many shots, because I was just trying to relax and have a good time, but it was a great opportunity to fly the drone out there. :)

Those are some good pictures. Looks like you had a good time. I've never camped out there but from the looks your closest neighbor was pretty far away!

It's a really easy day trip, especially from your neck of the woods. You could be there in about 2.5 hours from your front door.
