Sad News about Axle (Allen Rose)
« on: February 24, 2011, 03:26:04 PM »
Axle was a very active member of SCCX before he moved to Colorado.  Cyclemut just posted this on another site.   :(  http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/showthread.php?t=27504

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Allen Rose (aka Axle on the local board) was killed when the owner of the illegally parked SUV that he was going to tow, drove off. A chain he had hooked to the SUV caught him, dragged him down the road and he was killed.

Tow Truck driver killed

RIP Axle.  He will be greatly missed.

Oh my God, that's terrible.  He was a good man.  Thoughts and prayers going out to his family.

My prayers are going out for the family and for the lady who did this.
I greatly appreciate that he was a soldier and a family man.
I'm trying to figure out something witty.

Wow, weeping after reading this  :(

RIP Allen my friend, my condolences go out to his family.

He was one of the nicest, most helpful persons around.  He was always going out of his way to help others. Putting others first, making sure his family was taken care of, serving our country so proudly without hesitation. This is not fair!

Perhaps we should make him a memorial X out at Calico his favorite place like we did for CCX (Chris) in Mojave.

Memorial fund:
The owners of the towing company have organized a fund for his family at the Key Bank at 3085 S. Academy. The number to reach the bank is 391-5700. Donations can be taken to any Key Bank location. Checks can be made out to the Allen Rose Memorial Fund.

My Fav Photo of Axle (Allen) at the calico dry/mud lake taken by the late CCX (Chris). He loved playing in the mud

BTW found out about this on facebook and checked here after.

OMG! How tragic!

I have fond memories of Axle winching everyone that got stuck in Mojave many years ago. A big man with a much bigger heart... truly unfortunate to have things end this way.

Prayers and thoughts to his family.
Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst!
