Alright ladies and gentlemen, in the interest of making sure this trail is ready for 25+ trucks in two weeks, Alex and I toured Rattlesnake Canyon and Trail 2N02 today.
The Canyon was in good shape, although I must say we will have fun spotting some of the longer wheelbases in a few of the tight spots.
Spotting will be key in some of these areas.
AND, for those of you running stock step rails, be forewarned! Sliders are better, and the risk of bending these up into your rocker panels is serious on this run. My recommendation would be to remove, however, the choice is yours.
The run took us a little over three hours, as we hit the trail head at 2:00pm, and with some geocaching and one wrong turn, hit Baldwin Lake/2N02 West at 5:38pm, just at sunset. So, with our group hitting the trail head at 11:00am-ish, we should have no problem making it through in time. (barring a winter storm blasting through and blanketing 2N02, it was clear today)
Here are a few pictures to tempt your dirt flavored taste buds.
