Is anyone bringing a small grill for lunch or should I?

I was planning on bringing a small grill.

Thanks, but we won't have time for a charcoal barbecue on the trail.  Propane only.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. We had a great day. We left a little early and didn't make it all the way to Big Bear with the rest of the group but (assuming I don't get orders before there is a next time) next time we do... Hell, next time I would like to include camping or shooting guns or a bonfire or something? Thank you for letting my homie Graham (the big red jeep) and his brother come along. It's not easy to get away from work (even on the weekends) for us so we can't thank you enough... And he even won stuff.  ;D
I am going to start a new post for just pics and vids of this trip. Mods, if this isn't the right thing to do (if we should just add everything to this post then please move. I just figured this would get deleted after the trip since there is all kinds of info on it?)
Sorry to everyone we didn't get a chance to meet face to face. After I got home I realized I should have gone around with a list of screen names and asked who was who and checked off who all I had met and who I hadn't.  ??? There really were a LOT of folks!!!
Anyway, I'm making the video I have now (getting rid of all the unimportant stops and starts) I don't know how long it will be in the end? 2+ hours? Maybe I should cut this up? My wife took some pics with her phone... Let me upload them real slow (my internet sux!) I just wanted to make this post since we were probably the first ones home. Thanks again.  8)

I'm home as well one wheel short of a full set.  ::) I managed to fall over backwards over a large rock/boulder after just finishing changing the blown tire and got hurt pretty good. Both thumbs took a beating as did my rather well padded behind. The thumbs were bothering me all day and the pain was numbing but I didn't want to take my "happy" meds until I got home. I'm happy now.  ;D

I took the sledge hammer to the dented rim and it's not willing to comply. Mounted the spare spare and I'm back to a full set.

It was surprising to see so many new folks and so many trucks out there.

Let's start a photo thread in that forum.

Wow Paul I didn't know you hurt yourself too.  Sorry to hear that.  It was nice to meet you and family today.  Hope the "meds" kick in soon.

This isn't Santa's Workshop.  This place smells like mushrooms and everyone looks like they want to hurt me.

What a great day.

As I sit here in my palacial digs (Motel 6, Big Bear) and reflect on the day, I feel very fortunate to have met/wheeled/laughed/radioed with everyone on FRS/CB/Ham  :D all day on this cool trail.  Holding two mics and an FRS, plus a steering wheel, while carrying on four conversations (plus entertaining my co-pilot, Christiaan, xxSVxx) was a fun challenge!

A special thanks to a few people who really helped:

PaulXYZ, for stepping in and leading when I needed it.

Marc, Arch'sX, for quick spotting and coordinating radio comms all day.

Kyle, Kyle J. Thompson, for relay comms and a medical back up all day if needed.

Chris, ChrisHaynesUSA, for tailgunning and hiding my blood pressure medication. ;)

Don, Goldfish, for relay comms and trail directions.

Max, MaxPower for pre-running and giving me the lunch coordinates all day  ;)

Nick and Shiloh, for providing an overall calming effect and support (and forthcoming photos) of the trail leader.  ;)

All of the Club Frontier guys who showed up:  Morgan, Brian, Mark, Rick, Carl, Enrique...it was very cool to see your trucks in action.

Danny, DannyX, for providing the best trail side/lunch raffle I think the Club has ever seen. Thank you Offroadperformanceparts.com for the cool headlamps, recovery kit, 5 gallon gas can, LED light bar and STICKERS for everyone!

Danny II  ;D, Toro, for providing the other great raffle prize from White Knuckle Off Road, a GC for sliders.

One of the new members asked me if we did this kind of thing on every SCCX Xcursion, and I said "Of course!"  ;)

A big thanks for all the new members who showed up and had a great time on the trail!!!  [B/}

Some numbers:

36 trucks on the trail (according to PaulXYZ, an all time Club high)
50+ people
6 hours on the trail, a pretty good time for a group of this size.

I have to admit the number 36 looks a lot smaller on the Club site than on the actual trail!

It was a sincere pleasure meeting everyone, hope to see you all out on the trails for another SCCX Xcursion soon!

John, GhostX

I also thought it it was nice to have two Jeeps and a Land Rover join us on the trek and really show that we welcome everyone and prefer to be "inclusive" to one and all.  Thanks again everyone!

Cristian here, with the Land Rover. On behalf of my wife and I, I want to thank everybody in the group. The group was very welcoming, in good spirits, and overall fun to be with. I hope to make many more trips with the group and hopefully contribute more in the future. John(ghostx) thank you for everything, and I cant remember who lent us the radio, but thank you very much.

Cristian
