Just got me some new tires!  $985 installed, mounted and balanced.  Yokohama changed the V-pattern on it's Geolander MT so I switched to Rolling Big Power (RBP) Repulsor MT in a 305/70/16 on OEM PRO-4X rims.  These RBP tires also have a directional V-pattern for evacuating water faster.  The rubber blocks (voids) are not as open as the Geolanders so these Repulsor's should last longer.  They seem quiet too.

I like the idea of putting a lid on that shelf. Looks like it might make for a nice are to cook food on.

Ok, so it's been 8 mos. since I bought the tires, they've been great on traction but with regular rotation, they may not last over a year.  They are wearing fast & getting noisier.

Also, replaced all 3 timing chains, sprockets, guides, tensioners, water pump & hoses at 112k, two weeks later, clutch began to slip so I installed a Jim Wolf Tech upgrade kit, friction disc is considerably larger in diameter compared to the Clutch Masters kit.

wish i had known you were getting JWT parts, I used to work there so I can get them at cost.

Digging the redtop VQ.

Did you replace the flywheel too? that thing is pretty worn down, just like that metal clutch disk.

Can't wait til my clutch goes out so I can get rid of the dual mass flywheel and go to a JWT setup.

In the picture, you can see that I only resurfaced 2/3 of the flywheel surface, more than enough for the new JWT clutch.  Had a machine shop in riverside do it on a Sat morning, reassembled everything on Sun, ready for work on Mon.

One year after buying the RBP 305/70/16 tires & it's time to replace them.  They wore out fast & got very loud.  Instead, I bought another set, Nitto Ridge Grappler AT that hopefully will last longer.  $295/75/16 (33.5") at $219 each from DiscountTiresDirect.com.  so far these are even better than expected.  Smooth ride, stable & very quiet.
