If the weather report looks good, we will be camping. This will be our first overnight trip in the X so the last thing I need is for the wife to freeze her you know what off and have a miserable night. If we dont camp it will be Saturday only.

Do yourself a favor and buy a Coleman double wide airbed - they're sold at Wal-Mart for about $40. They're just about a perfect fit into the back of the X. You move the front seats forward, drop the back seats flat and that thing fits like a glove. Sleeping "indoors" is a nice way to go for a "tenderfood". You're up off the ground and away from the bugs, the airbed is comfortable and keeps you half-way warm and a medium sleeping bag does the rest. Crack a front window an inch on either side and you're good-to-go. I throw an extra blanket in the truck which if it's warm enough the dog gets it but if it's too cold she does without and we take it.

The weather doesn't get any better - the day time highs will be in the 70's and the evening lows will be in the mid-40's. Nice campfire and snuggling weather. This is one of the best trails every year. Last year we went into Augustine Pass and camped there before coming back to the Bradshaw Trail. We saw three or four rare desert tortoises which I haven't seen before or since.

Thanks Paul, I got that exact mattress that you recommended. I have 2 rubbermaid containers that fit on the floorboard and I cut a piece of plywood that sits on top of them and fills in the gaps. I went out and bought 6 lb Coleman sleeping bags that zip together for a warm and cozy night ;)

Do your self a favor and buy a different brand, Me and Emily have had two Coleman air mattresses, both leaked air after 2 or 3 uses, horrible IMO.

I have the Coleman and I like it.  I've been using it for a while now.

Back on topic.  I am still in but for Saturday only.

Are we going to encounter any dificulties with the coming rain?  I'm worried 'cause I still got reg. 265/70-r15 tires.  I mean, they have good thread but they're not quite mud tires.  I'm getting a tow strap just in case I need someone else to pull me out.

Just to let you know...

The weater report calls for snow on Thursday in Big Bear.  This may cause a problem for anyone trying to run trails on the side of a hill...

Unfortunately for me, I can't make this one.
I like sammiches.  And bacon.  Sammiches with bacon.  And chips.  Lots of chips.

Don't worry be happy  ;D  Some rain thrusday should be good to cut down the dust and maybe create some fun spots to play around in if they don't dry up by the weekend.  Remember this is desert terrain, mostly sand with some possible spots to find mud if it rains enough & we look hard enough, not the kind of stuff where you need mud tires or anything other than stock.

Forecast looks great for the weekend clear & 74/45  :)  Most likely 8-12 truck turnout from what I've seen.  I'm planning on both days as of now.

Nice to have but I'll have mine if you can't find one before hand.

After getting high centered (twice) up in Big Bear and seeing John (Sturndog's) I got one to match. The stock tires ought to be just fine along the Bradshaw trail portion of the trip.

+1 on the rain. Thursday's rain will be long forgotten by Saturday. We might see a mud puddle or two if we're lucky in the low spots.

We're still good for both days. I'll bring something to barbecue on Saturday and share a bit with the group. We're thinking Korean BBQ or Santa Maria style tri-tip (like always).

I'm still going.  I finally got a complete PML and the tow strap.  Will a reg 2-way walkie-talkie radio work on the trail to communicate?

So far, no rain.  I doubt we will get any tonight or tomorrow.  Someone at work said they heard we are suppose to get rain on Saturday.  He's working on Saturday now.  I'm sure all will be good for the run.
I'd rather be happy than right any day.
