Lost My Rake
« on: November 09, 2012, 10:32:33 PM »
I have the Pro 4X struts and shocks with stock leaf springs.  The front is 34 1/8 and the rear is 34.  What should I do to get the rake back?  Adjustable shackles?  Is 2" AAL too much rake?

I went with AALs, these rigs are way under sprung in the rear.

I would do an AAL, and see how much lift you get from that.

I heard that you don't need new U-bolts if you remove the stock overload spring with PRG AAL.  What are pros & cons on the removing it?

If you carry heavy loads or tow I would leave it.   I removed mine when installing my PRG AAL and reused the stock ubolts

Also consider that when you add some armor (skids, bumpers, etc.) that the 1/8 of an inch will level out pretty quickly.

Yes.  When funds permit, I would like to get a rear bumper with tire carrier.  That would drop the rear even more.  For now, I am probably going to leave it alone since I am level.

I was considering the PRG AAL.  But, after reading the thread on PRG on thenewX, I am kind of worried about ordering from them.

Well nisstec  offers a single AAL if your weary of PRG.  I talked with Greg before purchasing my lift and found out we know a lot of the same people so I felt confident ordering from him.  I received all my items very close to what he promised and he called me when there was going to be a delay.

I've been reading the forums since I bought the X in 2007.  I know Greg was a lot more involved back in the days.  I am sure his business have grown many times over since.  So, I can understand that he is a busy man.  The opinions on the other board were mixed.  I have never ordered anything from him, so I am staying neutral on the issue.

I have been looking at PRG and NissTec and weighing my options.  Thanks again for the help. :)
