We are good to go!

Mr. Preciado:

Your special use permit has been approved; an original signed document has been sent back to you in the mail.  I have also attached a scan here; use the same password as before to open the file.

Be sure to contact the rangers ahead of your arrival (condition #15).  The Preserve is greening up; I hope you enjoy your visit in April.

Payment sent.

You can sign me up to bringing a stove.  (2-burner propane)

How about if I bring some chips and salsa for an appetizer?

Goes good with a cold beer after a long day on the trail.    :)

Danny,

We would like to roll out with you from Pasadena Friday morning?

We will give you a donation when we see you then.

We're registered at Harrahs for Friday night.

Also, there are no less than two dozen cool geocaches along the way.

Especially this Earth Cache at the lava tubes (a great GPS reference to find them!):

Lava Tube of The Mojave Cinder Cones

A few Earth Caches inside the Mojave Preserve, and plenty of traditional caches near Laughlin/State Line area, as well as Afton Canyon on the west side.

Yay!  A trip with real "professional" geocachers.  :)

Danny - Do you have a map that shows the route we will be taking?  It won't be the first time I've embarrassed myself on this board if I find out there is only one route, which is the road as in "Mojave Road."  I just received the Mojave Road book suggested in the OP and would like to read up on those sections that we will be visiting.

Max - Is GPSBabel GPSBabel a good program to have the caches in the area automatically loaded onto my GPS receiver?  I only have the Garmin CSx, but it should suffice until I get some more finds logged.  And do you have any suggested caches we should check out along the way?

John - Do you have any specific caches in addition to the Lava Tubes cache that you have in mind so that I can look them up ahead of time?  I understand a good portion of the area we will be covering is part of the National Preserve and caching is not allowed.

Maybe we can plan the geocaching portion of this trip out ahead of time so that we can see and research what we're in for?  It might also be helpful for Danny so that when he looks in his rearview mirror and doesn't see anyone, he'll know we must have stopped for a cache and will be able to backtrack to find us.  ;)

Ive never used Gpsbable but a friend that uses a Mac likes it. I use GSAK on my Pc.
This isn't Santa's Workshop.  This place smells like mushrooms and everyone looks like they want to hurt me.

I'm a PC user not Mac, so I'll check GSAK out first.  Thanks Max, I appreciate your input.

If you want to throw me in the possibly/maybe spot as an extra that would be cool. No guarantees even if someone cancels at the last minute. But I figured why not get my name on there
