If you want to throw me in the possibly/maybe spot as an extra that would be cool. No guarantees even if someone cancels at the last minute. But I figured why not get my name on there

That's cool Aram. We just had a spot open up. I'll add you.

Yea, I was trying to hang on as long as I could, but work is just getting too crazy and I'm doing a 3-day weekend the weekend prior to attend a wedding in Atlanta.  I just can't get the time off for two 3-day weekends in a row.  I really wanted to do this.  I'll have to save the guidebook and National Geo Map for this trip the next time around... :(  You all have a great trip and be safe!

So we follow in the footsteps of Jedediah Smith and Kit Carson (both whom crossed the Mojave) but more conveniently AND WITH STYLE. And if not with Style plenty of BEER

Maybe some of the group would rather like to make breakfast instead.  This would help spread the labor and still count to the pot luck.  my 2 cents

It seems everyone wants to hit the road shortly after waking up in the morning, so pre-made breakfast items would be best.  The last time I made pancakes for a large group on a run, by the time the last person was served, everyone else was already packed up, aired down and sitting in their vehicles with their engines warmed up, ready to go.  I still had to clean up the breakfast prep and do my own packing.  I frantically tore down my tent, tossed everything in the truck, and the kitchen items got dumped into a big bag to deal with later.  That is also the time I learned that I should try out a new stove before a trip.  No matter how much you like bacon, when it is burnt to a crisp, it's really not all that good.  :-\  :D

Edit:  BTW, everyone was very helpful and kind to me on that trip.  They knew I didn't have a clue what I was doing and were very understanding just in general.  I'm sure they wouldn't have had a problem waiting for me.  That is typical of SCCX members.  I just didn't want to hold them up.
