POSTPONED Mod Day Feeler Apr 6/7?
« on: February 19, 2013, 09:17:42 AM »
So I'll be out for several weeks for some Air Force Leadership training here shortly.  Should have all of my Titan swap parts in by the end of March.  I won't be back from training until the first week of April.  So any interest in getting a mod day in April 6 or 7th?  Next question, does anyone have a garage with appropriate tools to complete a Titan Swap that wouldn't mind volunteering it for this?  (I can pay in food/beverages for all).  I'm going to reuse my R180 with the extended axles from PRG on this, so no swapping out front diffs.
Thoughts?
Suggestions?

***Postponing due to me being out of state still, and still don't have all my parts in yet. ***

I've got the tools and the garage and not much of a life if you want to the OC. :)

I would love to see this. If it doesn't get too crowded I wouldn't mind lending a hand, depending on location.

Well Nick it appears you have a multitude of places to do this.   As I mentioned to you before, my place is also available.

Thanks John, definitely gonna need the help on this one.  What tools do you foresee we would need/make the install easier?  I'm pretty much going the same route as you on this TS, minus the Alcans for the rear.

Terry, I'll definitely like to take you up on this offer.  What tools, if any do you foresee we might need?  Do you think you'll still be good for the 6th or 7th?  I'll supply the first round of beverages/social sparklers and pizza/wings for anyone there.

Ok just to let you know with me it will have to be the April 6th to do this...    I have a Daddy Daughter excursion planned with my middle daughter on the 7th  so will be unavailable.

Tools:   I have jacks and stands and can run multiple impacts at the same time and think that I have all the tools here including a BMF 1/2" cheater bar and a 32mm socket for that pesky axle nut.

Have you replaced the UCA's on that rig already?    If so, there shouldn't be any problem getting the bolts out.

And you are not replacing the diff correct and are using the extended PRG axles?    If that is true,  to quote Toro, Easy Peasy ;D   Matter of fact, the right kind of beer we might be able to draw Toro out of his lair.   If that were the case, there might be world speed records for Titan swapping....

Nick...as Terry mentioned, a 32mm hub socket (I have one), the necessary 17-19mm wrenches for the LCA's and UCA's...a 22mm wrench for the tie rod ends (I have one, or you can easily pick one up at HF), 21/22mm sockets for the spindle nut/bolts...that should cover it.

Yep...a jack and jack stands for sure.

Also, are you replacing the brake lines with extended Titan braided lines?  If so, you will need a 12mm and a 10mm brake line wrench.  Matt had one that was a pretty cool combo when we did Marc's and mine TS's.  I think a regular wrench would work too.  The sequence for bleeding the brakes is on TNX somewhere, I think Creek posted it.  Do a search and check that out.

I think that's it.  ;D

Would love to come, but I should be taking my A&P course that week.

I have all my parts for my PRG Advanced Coilover kit ready to go, but like Nick, I'm on travel from 31 March to 6 April. So for me, the 7th would be good if we are doing this as a group.  Otherwise wouldn't mind working a day with someone to knock out the install. :)

I put it out there earlier.  I have the tools and the time if anybody wants to come to Orange.  Unemployment makes it easy if anybody wants to do it during that week.
