NewB from San Diego.. Just wanted to say whats up/introduce myself and share some pics from my first real camping/off roading trip..
Took the Bradshaw Trail starting at Salton Sea.. Glad my 2WD made it

Hey welcome to the group.  I did the Bradshaw trail a few years ago.  Did you happen to see any dummy cement filled bombs out there?  Ran across a bunch of them and it would be nice to know they haven't been taken.

There are a few members in SD so you are in good company.

Welcome! Be careful in snow and mud with 2wd, otherwise still quite capable.

Welcome to the site...nice pics of the Bradshaw Trail.

Nice to see someone having off road fun in a 2WD.  Keep a tow strap handy, be ready to deflate tires, and if you plan on keeping the 2WD to off road in, invest in a good winch.

There will be some 2WD friendly trails probably coming up soon in Anza Borrego.

I'll admit it.  I toyed with the idea that I would take one home and use it as yard art.  They are fricking heavy!

That is because they are supposed to represent the actual unguided bomb.  UGB's are still heavy.  Anywhere from 800-1500 lbs most of those are likely.

Its so the pilots can train to drop them at their approach speed and angle and it act just like the steel bomb that they use.

And sorry for the thread jack welcome!  I am out of SD Also.  Military so i work quite a bit but wouldn't mind to start going up to the foothills for some minor trails and to get the wife and kid and dog out hiking.  Let me know.

   Although a 2wd may not be able to conquer all snow and mud situations, they sure can give it a run for the money.  I think there are some pictures around here somewhere that proves that.  Ice, however, may be a bit more of a challenge.
