Updated

Leaving from the San Francisco / San Jose bay area on Friday the 17th of May on my way to Las Vegas.
Staying at the Courtyard Marriott here in Las Vegas.
Leaving on Saturday morning for Moab with a convoy of all who are ready to leave on the day from Vegas.

If you're going through Ely, NV be sure to stop at the Silver State Restaurant for chicken fried steak.  If you have some extra time, there is a very scenic 33-mile unpaved loop around the east side of town called Success Loop.  It starts out south of town and climbs very quickly up to about 10,500', then very gradually descends down the slope to meet back up with US-93 north of town.

I noticed your hotel in Vegas was close to the Russian Massage Pro.
