Topic: Pet Barrier?

Hello everybody!!!!

For those that don't know me my name is Jason. I used to be on the BOD back in the day. I have been a member here since 2002 I believe.... I had a 1st gen fully modded. I went from that to a Rubicon but was still on the BOD because I loved the club and the people in it and spent every weekend on the trails with xtoolbox (Brian) and others.  I am the one who got our original trail (3n08) for the Adopt-A-Trail program.... I was VERY involved with the club until my divorce and subsequent move to Illinois.

Needless to say, there aren't a lot of places to wheel out here and DEFINATELY no rocks..... I got rid of my Rubi in 2009 and got a 2010 X!!!!! I am VERY happy to be back in an X!!!! There really isn't much of a club out here cause there really isn't anywhere to wheel, like I said..... I miss the SCCXer's!!!!!!!!!

I had a Raingler Pet Barrier in my old X. My question is, since the roof hooks are in different places in the 2nd Gen, does the Pet Barrier fit without moving the hooks? I'm SURE I can make it work but I wanted to see if anyone on here had it in their 2nd Gen. If so, can you post pix???

I have that pet barrier too and haven't found a good way to mount it. I think it'll come down to removing the headliner and mounting new hooks with a rigid back for support. I probably won't ever get around to it.

Actually, I did a bunch of research and found how people are doing it. Raingler sells some loops or you can get some from Home depot and pop off the plastic on the B pillar and mark it out and put the screws into the metal on the B pillar. Make sure it isn't just in the sheet metal but into the structural metal itself.

I miss Brian (XToolBox) and his highly modded and geared 1st Gen X.  He got me into the club 5 years ago or so.  Hope he's doing well.

Now, I have the raingler net on my 00 but I don't think it works on the 2nd gens.

Brian was/is one of my best friends!!!! We did trails EVERY weekend. Between him and I, we knew pretty much EVERY trail in Southern California and enjoyed leading the club on the Xcursions. He is having major back problems. That is one of the reasons he doesn't come out anymore. I have the same problem. 2 major back surgeries under my belt including a spinal fusion from L3-L5. It didn't work and I have to live my life on morphine just to take the edge off of the pain.....

I REALLY miss the club!!!! I wish I could come out and visit and run some of the Big Bear trails again. That was pretty much my back yard and I know every rock on those trails..... LOL!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the back problems.  I've got a herniated disk between L4 and L6 myself.  It acts up REALLY bad at times, like when I'm hunched over a fender working on a motor, but I can still work in construction.  I wish I could have joined the club sooner.

Yeah.... People who have never had back problems have NO IDEA what it is like. It affects every aspect of your life. It is like another being that I have to plan for whenever I do anything from camping to hiking to fishing/hunting etc.... I have to think about it as if it were another person and plan how to deal with it if that makes any sense.....

Doesn't stop me though. I still do everything I want. I just pay DEARLY for it after........
