Ham Repeaters on Lowrance GPS's
« on: October 13, 2013, 12:11:10 PM »
And.. to add fuel to the Lowrance fire..

I've teamed up with RepeaterBook.com to create a repeater location overlay!
The repeater data overlay will be included on the RR map cards at no extra cost and I'll provide free repeater database updates.
Keep in mind That I have done the repeater book side of things purely because I think it would be not only useful to have but also important to have when on the trail.
If for some crazy reason someone doesn't want to buy the RR Map Cards (satellite imagery, ohv trails, trail head marker etc.) I can provide the lowrance repeater files at no cost upon request.
Please keep in mind that RepeaterBook.com runs on donations and Garrett over there has been great to work with on this project. If you use these repeater data files I highly recommend sending something his way via the paypal Dontate button at www.RepeaterBook.com

The screen shots attached to this post are from browsing around in Johnson Valley with the upcoming Johnson Valley OHV map card with the RepeaterBook.com repeater files loaded for California.
FYI, The screen shots aren't as sharp as they are in real life on the screen.

Hey Steve,
I couldn't find the RR map cards on your site ???  It sounds like exactly what I'm looking for.  Can you guide an old man who needs a GPS to find the bathroom.

Sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase!
The cards haven't been released yet. I'm wrapping up Jonson Valley and Calico right now and will be the first 2.
I'll be releasing them one area at a time then down the line I'll do a master card with all the areas in a state.
I'm also working with Funtreks to turn their books into Lowrance Map Cards starting with the (Southern) Colorado Book.
I can post some more sample screen shots of the map cards in a new thread.

What Area are you most interested in? and do you already have a Lowrance?

No, I don't have Lowrance.  I was just looking for a map that had the locations and frequencies of so cal 2M repeaters.  Once again, old man mode.  I've got a TomTom, but it's not too smart either :)

These files are free.

It would probably be more randy's pace if we got him a Thomas brothers guide and marked the repeaters on that :D

Sorry to sideline your thread.

Just a quick update, the entire U.S. repeaterbook database is now available for download state by state.

Being that Garrett, KD6KPC, is constantly keeping this database up to date I'll have things set up in the near future to automatically keep these downloads up to date. You can always see how old your repeater maps are by looking at the date printed in the Updates.txt which is part of each download.

I hope some of you find this useful. If you do, please consider donating to RepeaterBook.com via the paypal link found on each downloads page.

The download listings are found here: http://ruggedroutes.com/lowrance-gps-maps-downloads-ham-radio-repeater-gps-maps-c-24_33.html

Feel free to post if you have any questions.
