If you are thinking about doing this:
Who: Xterra owners
What: your rig ready for the trail, i.e. 35's , Rear Locker, Winch, recovery gear, some trail spares, etc..(see details in this thread)
When: summer of 2014 (SEPT 5-6) over-nite at the springs with Jeff Arabia of Arabias overkill
Where: Rubicon trail Northern California ( see links)
Why: Because you can......
How much? ......I will figure an amount to cover the cost of what it will take to pull the event off and not a cent more.
I have a date now from Jeff Arabia who has volunteered to be the trail leader for this run. He has been doing this trail for years and has contacts with private property owners where we can over night at the springs. and drive out in the morning. More details to follow.
I have also thought about and additional trail to run after this one that will be easier to serve as a follow-on for people coming from a greater distance that may want to run and additional trail.
I will also invite Greg of PRG products. and let you know if he can make this run.
Step up and be counted.!!!Planning stages.

Required gear/ mods/ tires/ clearance/ lockers/ ......
Talked with Jeff this afternoon.
he is in as a trail leader. his rig is here....
http://www.arabiasoverkill.com/ DriveTrain Requirements for this Rubicon run(summer 2014)
:
35's,............... rear locked,.................. tow points front and rear,............... winch,
33's................. front and rear locked,.... tow points front and rear,............... winch,
gearing discussion:
35's should be on 4:10 or 4:56
33's should be on 3:69 or 3:13
Do I need to say skids and sliders?
PM me if you disagree and plan on attending and not just busting my balls.
Jeff is also talking about lining up logistic support, where to overnight( he knows some local land owners)(where to do maintenance, he'll probably bring his overkill mechanics)
There is a marketing opportunity here. and sponsors will be welcomed. I'll be reaching out to potential sponsors. if you see yourself doing this run and can offer time or services, they will be welcomed.
I would like to avoid turning this into a " can my rig make it thread" or "will my exception" be OK.
Please PM me with any further questions. I can tell you right now I made those requirements with alot of thought about, movement on the trail(there are others besides us), breakdowns, parts, welding resources, reading abut other Rubicon events, etc...
people that breakdown often spend the night on the trail and not the camping areas.
they often ( very often) require help and time from other participants that came on the trail. too often people must leave the trail try to go into town procure parts and get them back to the trail.
This is a class 10 trail.
