It's just over the halfway mark from Big Bear side.  I think Shi marked it on our Garmin, I can check when I get home this afternoon for the details of the location.

O March?   Hmm that could be fun for a look see.   You been to Pontiac Sluice before or Tip Top Mtn or Gold Mtn?

Nope, nope, and nope... But I'm down to check them out.

Why don't we just use a small generator and a sawzall to cut the body up and load it onto Duff and My trailer in smaller chunks. Hell, we can even section the frame once we hoist it to the top or bottom. My 1 Ton Military trailer also pivots as a dump bed.

I think a sawzall cutting through metal would still kick up sparks. There is going to be plenty of risk no matter how we try to get it out.

Any cutting or torching will require several hours of road closure. We need to muscle it up the hill and onto a low flat bed.

When we do the midweek 'inspection', let's take a tool set, hack saw and a come-a-long hand winch to see what we can separate (motor, axels, heavy stuff) while it's in place.  Someone could drop off the tools and workers for a couple hours to keep the trail clear, then come back and pick them up and maybe some smaller bits of the Olds.
Does anyone know more about the 'lower trail' below the Olds?

Thanks, that would be a huge help.

Yup that is 2N70Y.   Been there, did it. And no it is not an option for getting the Olds out.   Matter of fact, yet another fun little spur of 2N02 folks.  Pretty exciting it is.

Looks like I'll be free at least one more week. Is Tuesday/Wednesday of next week for recon still a possibility?

Randy/Terry/Danny-maybe we should bring a couple of hi lift 's too?

Hey folks have fun and be careful.   Just log your time, remember it is door to door and kids get time and a half.   Pics or it doesn't happen  ;)

Oh ya like Danny said can't miss it.

We aren't a sissy group. We got 6 big cylinders and enough weight. Big winches and fuz to use them. Don't make more work for Ourselveses. A couple chains around the frame to some heavy winches will bring that right up.
