Are we still meeting at the gas station in Twentynine Palms Friday morning at some point?

Those stickers are awesome BTW.

Regarding the Friday morning dash:

Approximately what time do you think we'll arrive in Laughlin?

It's hard to tell. Depends on how the group moves. We are covering a lot of desert miles.
If we get on the road by 10am...I'm guessing 4pm to cover the entire trip. There will be two spots where we can duck out onto highway if time gets thin.

We started at the Avi, and went to slashX 180 miles. Started at 1100 ended at 1730. We averaged about 32 mph for the trip. So round up it takes about 6 hours if you do all dirt. Quickest, one of my friend did it in 4.

The larger the group the longer it takes due to dust. We had 7 in the fast run. And we did have to back track as we lost one in the wash.

If you don't have a Ham radio, make sure you have GPS of each check point where your group decides to stop.

Anyone have GPX files or coordinates for the various different stops along the way?

I will be going digital on this trip. I will be using BackCountry Navigator with maps I made on Google earth.
I have created a .KMZ (Google Earth) file in three parts of the Friday morning run.
1. 29 Palms to Goffs
2. Goffs to the 95
3. 95 to needles

I then converted them to .GPX and loaded them, individually,  into Backcountry Navigator. The app combined the trips into one trip and overlaid it onto the built in topo maps

This is an over view shot but can be zoomed into amazing detail.

You can then download that area of the map to your device and navigate with in it on an off grid trip. This will only work with devices that have a true built in gps receiver. (Sorry iPhone users).
If anyone is interested in the .gpx or .kmz files I created, let me know and I wil l send them to you.
There are several files available online for the actual Mojave Road that can easily be download from the web.

The app is $10. It I s kind of pricey but I drop $10 on Harrison maps several times a year. If anyone else is using this app, I can send you the file of my setup and your system will display it. There will be no need to do anything else.
