Field day
« on: June 04, 2014, 01:33:43 AM »
Just curious, are any of you guys familiar with the ARRL event called field day? If so, how many of you would like to get involved with it? Maybe we eventually we can participate every year if there is enough interest.

If you're not familiar with field day or know very little about it.. Please fire away with the questions.

I'd love to get involved with that. Would be a great learning experience for me.

I too would like to get involve Steevo.  Would we host our own?   Or participate with other groups?

Cool but won't that mean we have to become Generals and Extras and buy all that big equipment?

I wouldn't mind becoming a General, I hear they get paid pretty good and tell lots of people what to do? I don't know about an extra though, Hollywierd kinda stinks these days and I don't really care to be in any movies.

Ha ha ha, that was a good one... No, wait.  What?

Being an extra is not that bad, just extra cash for a day when you have nothing better to do.

Kind of..
As long as one general or extra is supervising then other people can operate under that license. As far as radios go
. I'm sure we can scrounge up another radio or 2. I have 1

Might just give me a good reason to study for the general exam, maybe I'll understand some of the theory behind this stuff a little gooder.

My word of advice. Don't stress about learning I'll the theory from the book. Pass the test and ask questions later.
