Will the GeoTaco have a CB radio in time for this run?

This would fall under that category of "Do as I say, not as I do"  LOL!

ETA: and HAM too!  Will the GeoTaco have HAM?

I am scrambling...but yes, that is the PLAN.  Bought a mag mount CB antenna and may just go HT for my porky comms.

We are very excited to see everyone again.  :)

BTW Steve...we used the Camp Chef stove and griddle in Anza Borrego the last couple of days, and it was impressive.  Cooking food was a snap, and boiling water for coffee was super quick.  Very happy camp cheffer here.  ;D

Permit update.
As of today, Thursday the 9th, we have not been issued a permit yet. I have attempted to communicate several times and finally heard from the preserve.

"I have received your application, but have not reviewed it yet.  I am trying to get caught up with a large backlog of permit applications, compliance reviews, and other workload.  I will be in touch once I have had a chance to look your application over.  Thanks."

They received it over 2 months ago and I am hopeful we will get this squared away this week. They sure cashed the hell out of the check I sent them though.
I will, of course, keep everyone updated.

I have a UV5R HT (thanks Toro) and a mag mount with the appropriate adapter if you'd like to borrow it.  *probably not needed, but you're more than welcome to the set up.

And yes, the camp chef life really turns up the heat on outdoor cheffing.

Worst case scenario on the permits, we break up into two different groups and run the trail in close proximity to each other... Technically, we would just need to make sure we have less than 7 vehicles and 15 people per group.  I would hate to see this run her disrupted because of someone's inefficiency in the permit office!

Signed everything and sent it right back on USPS's fastest snail.
The permit will be signed by the superintendent then emailed back to me. We are on que to at least have a digital copy of the permit by mid week.
