I won't be there this week.  Heading out the next morning on our annual geology campout and need to finish packing.  Going to Corn Springs, east of Joshua Tree.

I won't make it either, heading out for Death Valley to try out the new RTT.  If the food trucks are never there and everyone is walking over to the plaza for food, any thought about moving it to a Tue. or Wed. night since some people head out on Thurs night for 3 day weekends?

I would be more than happy for a Mo-Tu-Wed. Is there a place more central San Diego that may work as I'm in stop and go traffic the entire time to get to the current location.

we can definitely switch days and location, just have to figure out where and when.  how about everyone give ideas and we try somewhere new either this week on thursday or wait until next month to change venue and location.

I personally like the location, when the trucks show up it is nice, and there are lots of choices for a backup across the street. Daylight savings may help bring the trucks back.  It's also very close to my house so that's nice :D

Wed won't work for me, as I ride bikes with Hennie and friends.

Well based on the two replies about what nights don't work, it looks like we're limited to Mondays and Thursdays (if we're trying to keep it during the week - weekends don't work for me and probably won't work for many). I'm good with either Monday or Thursday.

As far as location - I can't think of a good spot that is centrally located, has a good variety of food, and plenty of parking for our rigs where we can set up (and be out of everyone's way) and hang out without causing a scene. Maybe we need to eliminate the food requirement and everyone can just handle that part individually - just show up with whatever they want to eat (run through a drive through or stop at your favorite place on the way there). Then we could meet up somewhere fun each month - somewhere along the beach, a cool park, landmark, etc.

I was thinking that some of the city parks like this https://www.sandiego.gov/park-and-recreation/parks/osp/blackmtn might not be a bad idea if you guys wanted to cook hamburgers/hot dogs from time to time. They have a couple huge parking lots. Joe has a good idea of varying the location here and there to switch it up a bit. Places like the beach have some awesome places to park and hang out but can be a bit of a zoo during the summer months. Up in the N. County there are lots of great free parks that can accommodate everyone but I doubt you guys want to travel as I think there aren't too many of us that are N. County coastal. I'm still up for Thursday at the same place if you guys want to meet. I'm with Jordan about the convenience of the spot but man that traffic kills me trying to get there from my place.

I like the location, not far off the freeway, (usually) a big empty parking lot and possibly a choice of food trucks or the 4-5 places in the plaza across the street.  Other than parks, everywhere I can think of might have parking issues if we all want to park together and hang out.  My only issue is that I head out for 3 day weekends on Thursdays right after work at least a couple of times a month.

I wish it were that easy, Its my wife's (for skiing) and friends schedules that always win out over my desire to come to the hangout.
