Ace, will be there tomorrow night!!
So I have Joe's Highlift bar and who's is the other one?
So I can replace it or send the bar back down?
I am needing some pictures desperately......
Joe and Roy and I and our back up safety "CKayaks" limped back to Ubehebe crater Sunday evening.
That 20 miles was kinda stressful. the last 5 miles had really washed out roads and it bounced us a little.
We came upon a Nissan Sedan with two foreign tourist with a baby in the back child restraint seat.
we stopped and they asked if this road lead to the racetrack.
I told them to turn around and that they were not prepared for the road(don't know why the first 5 miles did not dissuade them).
It was night at this point and they had no food or water or recovery equipment and the temperature would soon be freezing.
they chose to ignore my warning.
We got to Ubehebe crater and Roy peed in it a second time( he was very proud of that).
We aired back up to 40 psi and hit dry pavement for the rest of the trip home. I was able to do 40-45 back to stovepipe wells where we gassed up and went back through Panamint Springs and back to Lone pine where we stayed the night.
Super big thank you to CKayaks who drove slowly with me all the way back and stayed in radio contact with me the whole way.
Ham radios are MONEY!!!!.
Monday morning we got up and had breakfast at the motel and I rewired the trailer cable back together.
SO now I had brakes and lights!! we drove out of Lone pine and back to Paso Robles Monday night and then Tuesday we made it home.
I was able to talk to CKayaks(Cass) Tuesday and learned that some of you went home day early and that all souls were safe and had fun.
The bright light streaking in the sky Saturday night was a trident II missile test from a Navy submarine off the coast of Los Angeles. you can google for the story line.
It was an AWESOME sight from the desert.
I cant thank everyone enough for all the help in getting my trailer ready for the trip back home.
I will have to bring a good bottle of scotch for next years trip or perhaps make it down for one of the SCCX runs.
Best regards to ALL
