I spent the last week at Palm Springs. I came in on the south pass last Sunday when it was raining.
Lee came into my camp on Monday to see what route I came in and its condition.
He said up to Saturday the
north was open with one spot with a lot of rocks on the road but passable in four wheel drive.
Since the rains, he didn't know the condition of the road. About noon on Monday a Motorcycle rider came into the springs.
He said he came in the
north route and it is open with one spot that has a lot of rocks on the road but passable.
Tuesday a Jeep Wrangler came in from the
north route and said it was open, with some rocks in one spot but passable.
So, it seems its open but advisable to have four wheel drive."

Went in
South Pass Thursday night (
10/8/15), and back out Yesterday morning (
10/11/15).
Most of the road was in really good shape with the least washboard I've seen. There are a lot of little places where the water washed over the road in the valley, but no big deal, but do need to slow down for some of them. The worst I thought was the last section on Bat Road right before the lower Springs. Gets rutted and rocky. Same going to the upper Springs. Some big rocks and such, and the road is a bit hard to follow in a couple places. Numerous vehicles missing the road coming down from
Steel Pass just above upper springs and heading down the wash.

Did not drive it, but folks were filtering in and out
North Pass with jeeps and 4x4 without any major difficulties, that we heard about.
