I'm not going to be able to make it, work has other ideas for me on Saturdays and Sundays for the next few months. If anyone isn't busy on a Wed-Thurs or Friday I can jump in.

Eric, I sent you a PM the other day about a possible Wenesday mod day.
What will you be working on?

Sorry Sir, never got the PM.... Computers hate me. What I was wanting to accomplish is maybe cutting out a little steel from the front wheel wells and maybe a melt type mod to the rears. I don't have the heat gun so maybe someone in their good graces might be able to help out.

Erik,

I have a heat gun you are more that welcome to borrow.  Just let me know so we can meet up somewhere along the way, or I can drop it off at Randy's house before the mod day since I pretty much pass his house every day on the way to and from work!

Erik, I hate to be the bearer of bad news...
To fit 35's on our rigs, you'll need to do a bit of work. A 2" body lift and 1.5" wheel spacers and trimming.
A Titan swap or drop bracket lift will also do it but that's major $$.
The rubbing your experiencing is the tire is just to big for the wheel well. The inside edges are, most likely, rubbing against frame. I'm sure they are hitting  the plastic too but that's not where the problem is. Wheel spacers will fix this. By using wheel spacers you'll have pushed the wheels out, away from the frame and, unfortunately, lined them up with the fenders. A body lift will raise them up further out of the way. A body lift will raise the top of the fender but the rear of the front fender doesn't go anywhere.
You'll also need to trim about 2" out of the back of the front wheel fender metal (in front of the front doors)

Going into the 35's, I knew there would be some rubbing associated with them. Part of that Mojave trip was to see exactly where and how much rub was happening. I've already got about 3"(ish) and about 2" in the front added on but no body lift. The B/L is something that I have been considering. The biggest place where there is some rubbing going on is along the front frame and that's at the extreme turn radius angles. There is very minor rubbing going on inside the wheel wells. I suspect as a result of the existing suspension lift. There is some minor trimming that has been done on the rear of the front wheel wells but to make me comfortable, I would like a bit more taken out. Thanks much for posting this info because my X is still a work in progress and all of this is truly appreciated!

I have everything Toro described plus a 1" spacer on my Radflos and i still rub on the bumper when i back out.  I'm saving my pennies so a can get a bumper made which should fix the problem.  Look at Chris Haynes rig, he has 35's and very little fender left.  Be very carefull how much you cut in the well.  I've seen where guy have trimmed the body seam and split it wide open.  It's best to pie cut and bend the seam.  Good luck. :)
Be careful when you follow the masses..... sometimes the "M" is silent.

Eric, I don't know anything about 35"s, but if you find the knowhow, I'll supply the midweek driveway ;)

I may try and show up with my beast. If it's up and running, I'll need to install my ARB compressor and tank and some other air stuff. ;)

Easy Peezy, bring brake pads with you.  Usually just the front made of ceramic.  Others may please chime in with their stupid opinions on this please.

Are brake pads something I should get from the Stealership or can I buy them at AutoZone/O'Reilly?
