Just my .02, but I would suggest starting it here, and then linking the thread to TNX....that site is BUSY and threads get lost easily

However, just my opinion....

CANVAZ is a group outing highlighting CAlifornia, NeVada and AriZona.  CANVAZ.

The location of the outing rotates on an annual basis, and last year, the AZ guys hosted outside of Tuscon, AZ.

Last time it was here in CA, we did it in Big Bear and it was a blast.  We had a few of us that camped in town, and there were runs all day Saturday and Sunday, with differing difficulty rating, based on your rig and what you're comfortable with.

I think we first need to nail down a location to host; Once we figure that out, the rest of the stuff will fall into place.

Big Bear was the last hosting spot (last 2?), and is a really logical choice because of the diversity of runs and the hosting facilities (cabins/camping/hotels, etc)

I think we ought to look at other locations to use, since Big Bear has been our go-to spot for this event for a few years in a row, but you really can't argue with how convenient everything is up there at the same time...

I vote for Gorman OHV Park. http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1192

I went there about 5 years ago when I had my FJ and had a blast! They have trails for every difficulty level and we can even reserve a campsite right next to their "training grounds" that has 3 levels of difficulty that offers hours of entertainment of watching people that think they are off road Gods destroy their over-priced, dealership-built vehicles on the hard course. ;D

I still think BigBear has the most trail versatility. The only tough trail in Hungry Valley is Miller and that's about as tough as Gold Mt.

October is cool enough to head out to Anza Borrego as well.

keep the ideas coming fellas....

remember, when we pick a spot, we're gonna be hosting a few peeps from out of state and they may or may not be ok with rudimentary camp sites....

The last two have been in the desert (Vegas and Tuscon), let's get it into greener areas.  Big Bear is great option since we can go high into the mountains or down into Johnson Valley easily.  Maybe there' something in the Tehachapi (sp) area for something different.
Be careful when you follow the masses..... sometimes the "M" is silent.
