Holy Moly that thing is huge.... How comfortable is it sleeping in that kind of setup? Just from looking at those they look really nice and appear to be able to withstand a pretty good wind storm. I would guess the biggest part would just trying to make sure you are on as level ground as possible for the night.

That's what the Annex below is for - it's supposed to fit a queen air mattress.
Plus access to the passenger side door of the X  ;)

I thought that the whole idea of the rooftop tent was to offer protection from wild animals.  How does that work in the Annex?

Nice looking tent.  And, without the Annex you do have an awning, sort of.

So I feel like I've thread jacked the Anti-Thread Jack with a Tenting Jack...... ;)  (Moderators feel free to move to a tenting thread)

It is HUGE!  And was SOOOOOOOO Comfortable sleeping.  Probably would fit 3 people if you don't mind "togetherness".  We set it up in a 28 mph wind storm and it performed amazingly.  I kept thinking we should pull in the window vents, but it held up just fine. (No, I didn't sleep much the first night with all that wind).

I watched that video ChrisHaynesUSA posted in the "Death/Saline Valley/RaceTrack/Lippincott Mine Road 7-11 November 2015" thread and that's what sold me on the tent. (So it's all his fault  ;) )

First night we were on a slight slope with no problem.  Ladder is adjustable.

Mike isn't as fond of the Annex as I am.  Tent goes up in about 15 min.  Annex takes approx another 15 min.  We will get faster with time.  The Annex isn't required and can stay home or in the back of the rig all folded up.  But I like it for a changing room, put your stuff in room, access the car in your PJ's room, etc.  It has a rubberized floor which would be great in rain/mud.  Or you can zip the floor out for sand/grass.

If we are by ourselves, probs just use the tent.  If with a group or multi-nights, probs put up the Annex.

And yes, this is our new awning!!  ;D

Great find!!!

I oversold the awning, Joe, and ended up with an RTT!  LOL

Tepui Tents has some nice videos showing how it all works, but we can demostrate sometime if people are interested in seeing the whole system..

But don't pay TT prices (unless you have extra money to throw around).  We got the exact same tent for 1/2 TT's price.

Craigslist $925  vs. Tepui Tent $1800 (+$150 shipping)   (Ours doesn't have the skylight - didn't really like the idea 'cuz how is that rainproof?)

Not sure about Wed or Thurs.  Depends on Mike's schedule.  :-\

Thanks Barb!

I wonder if they have smaller ones?
Can you buy it without the annex?

Smaller? I don't think so, but you could ask....
Comes automatically with the annex (all in the same box)  ;)

This came to me today.

Subject: 10 Things to Consider

1. I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.

2. I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds.  People move out of the way much faster now.

3. You can tell a lot about a woman's mood just by her hands.  If they are holding a gun, she's probably angry.

4. Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers.  Now they drink like their fathers.

5. You know that tingly little feeling you get when you really like someone?  That's common sense leaving your body.

6. I don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around in the courtroom.

7. I didn't make it to the gym today.  That makes five years in a row.

8. I decided to change calling the bathroom the "John" and renamed it the "Jim".   I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

9. Dear paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers.  If you find one, what's your plan?

10. Everyone has a right to be stupid. Some just abuse the privilege.

Just makes you go Hmmm. :)

I'd love to be able to get that going for everyone and think it's a great idea, I just don't know where to go for the design unlike I was able to do for JF's shirt.

If anyone has any ideas on design or a place to go for some Mojave Rd shirts I'm all over it!

Posting this here so as to no longer thread jack the AAT T-shirt thread.

Sort of came up with a logo - for your viewing pleasure...

As to a t-shirt shop, I've come up with a blank.  Anyone have a friend who owns a shop or likes to silk screen on the side?
