Man this is looking like it'll be one biggest Xcurisons for the year! Too bad I'll have to miss it: I'll be out of the country with family for vacation for three weeks.
Buuuut, at least for my Xterra, a new mod is in the pipeline while I'm gone... ;D

Ooh ooh, do tell! Keep it on topic, but do tell. Please only discuss MRV in this thread, but also tell me what you're doing to your rig. See I'll be thinking about your X over that weekend so it's technically on topic. See?

...and keep this thread focused on MRV stuff.  You only have 4 posts in your build thread, it could use a little love!!  :)

Smokey conditions, campfire and dutch oven restrictions, and trail closures for biking and hiking...sorry folks, we are out for this MRV.

My son and I are still coming.  Is there a specific area in the camp that SCCX folks are going to set up?  For those of you that are Hams - repeater and simplex frequencies?  Any other SCCX coordinated operations?

Last year, I camped in a pretty cool spot.  I'm going to try to get that spot again.
I was going to take a screen shot of the area on google maps satalite view, but it's really hard to get an idea of where everything is because there was snow on the ground when those images were taken.
But, I can give you a pretty good idea.

When you enter the camp, you will register at the check in table.  The place where I'm going to try to camp is down about 30 yards and to the left.
This pic was taken from the dutch oven cooking area, you can see the camp on the left

From the AA thread
Quote
Comm Plan:
CB: Ch 38 for calling
FRS: For short range Ch 3 tone 8
HAM: Simplex 146.52 & 146.460
Ham Repeaters:
Option 1
146.385 + PL 146.2 on Keller Peak
Option 2
147.330 + PL 131.8 in Big Bear (Sugarloaf or Sugurlump Mtn.?)
Option 3
147.645 - PL 103.5 in Big Bear Valley

SCCX type hams usually run on 146.535.  I'll have that one tuned in on the FTM-400 on the way to camp and on the handy talkie when I get to camp.

I'll probably also monitor 146.520 on the way up.
