Help with Tire Carrier Security
« on: September 28, 2015, 06:44:03 PM »
So with a tire carrier bumper, how do you keep the spare tire from being stolen? What security method do you think works best?

So far I've found:
This Type but can't find it for our size rim.
Or this: HitchMate Spare Tire Lock
Or this: Trimax Spare Tire Lock

Which do you prefer and why?

Same question regarding Jerry Can Security.....

For the spare tire
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000COS06U/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_DAFcwbQ0P1M00

For the jerry cans

There is a "tunnel" that runs under the jerry can holder. Run the cable through there and up around the can handles.

With a little tweeking, this is ideal to hold them down.

This type of hook orientation works best on this holder. You'll need to flip the short one and trim the length of the longer one.

A cable around the wheel will wear on the finish of your wheel.

Why not just use the lock but that you have similar to your actual wheels?
