Cleghorn 11/2/15
« on: November 03, 2015, 12:11:50 PM »
Hey all!
Just completed Cleghorn (on easy  ;D) and it was awesome! this was pretty much my second time off road in my new to me 05 stock xterra and I have to say I was blown away! (almost literally, it was wiiiiinnnndddddyyyy!) We went up around 11am and just had a blast. The X handled everything with ease and I must say I really learned to trust its capabilities. There were only two or three times I was nervous about a run but I parked and walked it every time, spotting for anything that would be trouble, and am happy to report that nothing stopped us! This was just an absolute blast and I can't wait to get back out there. I know this isn't as cool as a lot of members rigs full flexed and looking badass but it is a start and I really want to contribute to this forum since there are so many awesome people and amazing information!
Anyway, thanks for looking
Chris

Nice pics.  I went for a motorcycle ride yesterday and the wind was horrible.  At times, I was leaning into the wind almost as much as I would lean into a corner.

Great pics!  Cleghorn is on our list of ToDo's

Getting to know your X is priceless.  Every time we take Pepe out on a trail - I fall more in love.

Your X doesn't need to be modified to be cool - it's bad ass as is....  ;D >:D

Love the color of your X. Cleghorn is fun, my X got it's first "trail mod" on Cleghorn.

Cleghorn is a lot of fun. Let us know the next time you head up. It's great to see that you are using your X off the pavement.

Yep, just let us know when you plan to go next, I'm under an hour away from Cleghorn.
And agreed, don't worry about the mods, driver experience on some easy trails is much more important at first. :)
There's plenty of time later on to be wrapped up in modding. ;D

very true, Alex. Also, I will be sure to post before my next trip. May be a little tough to get anyone since my main free days are monday and wednesday and those are the days I try to plan to go. I have school the other days and work weekends. but with enough notice I'd take off a saturday or sunday to make a run. If any of you interested parties started something 2wd friendly (at least semi accessible) and within about an hour or two of the pasadena area, you could pretty much count me in ;)

There are a few of us that are available mid week. Don't hesitate to post a run.

Looks like it was a fun trip. I'd love to head up with someone one of these days to get my feet wet with my new X!
