Couple of things.

Regarding food, should I bring my explorer 2 burner and griddle?
I'm definitely bringing the Skottle.

Unless you're worried about room, why not?  I'd bring it just in the event someone's apparatus breaks down and we're short a cooking doodle....

Added to the wait list. Are you now in our area? Haven't seen much activity.

I was on the list a few days ago.  I signed up around the 12th.  Now I'm not on the list and I don't see any communications from anyone about being dropped.  What's up?
Negative Ghost-ryder.
There are no posts logged and this is labeled as your fist post ever on this site.
This run is open to all and all are welcome...but...... it has, mostly, filled up with the frequent flyer jar heads. I would have remembered your interest.

I did see her name on the sign up list a few days ago, but never saw a post saying she was interested in the run.

Just for clarification Melissa - the sign up list is a brand new addition to the forum and we haven't used it formally yet. For now, we still sign up for runs using an "I'm in" post in the main thread. I saw your name pop up on the sign-up list, but unfortunately the run had already hit capacity - it just wasn't reflected as being at capacity using the sign-up list feature because it's new and most people still aren't using it. I'm sure Toro would be happy to add you to the standby list, but even that is a few people deep at this point. One of the mods might have gone through the list and made it reflect what was posted in the thread, just to eliminate any confusion.

Either way, good to see you on the forum! Might also be a good idea to post up in the "welcome center" thread for those within the group that didn't get to meet you on the death valley run. :)

My appologies,
I never access this forum from a desk top and have never seen the "Sign up" list let alone used it. I dont know who manages the list but there are a few participants not listed and my own name isn't even on the list. As I see it now, it is inaccurate and will not be honored for this run. There is a true on going list on the 1st post of the thread that is the true participant list.
Mods, please remove the list to avoid further confusion. We should also make the list generated at the descretion of the coordinators and managed accordingly. In the rare instance, where participation is capped and "spots" are persued (because of permits), this will only create dissapointment and frustration.
I exist 100% on a mobile device and the forum has, recently, been upgraded with new features I am not familiar with.
Again, Sorry for the confusion but the sign up list seen above, is not the true list.

Not to jack this thread or anything but there is a winter Mojave Rd run coming up Jan 15th/17th that still has room if you would like to go on that.

I am 100% to blame on this, not Toro.  My apologies.

I had added the sign up list to the top of the page without checking with Toro.  As he is 100% mobile through tapatalk, he was unaware of the addition of the sign up list that is being tested.

I had actually planned on starting a new thread to gauge interest in the new features to know if they should be kept or not.

The sign up list is indeed optional and controlled by the Original Poster, and lists can be capped at a certain number with a waitlist started after the maximum has been reached.  Because some users are primarily mobile, they cannot see the sign up list so the feature will most likely be dropped.

You were removed from the list because you did not post in the thread showing any interest in the run.

It appears that knightrider was keeping the list (that I couldn't see) current with what I had in the 1st post.
Not on the 1st post = not on the list.
I appreciate Knightriders efforts and sorry for the confusion.

Please take further discussions to PM.
  Thanks

Yup, I've been living in Santa Monica since Sept. but was traveling a lot for work until mid-Dec.  Hopefully things will settle down a bit in 2016.

OP updated with a cut and paste from the previous years thread.

Also....
Here is a link to the campers page on the Preserves Web site
http://www.nps.gov/moja/planyourvisit/camping-regs.htm
Give it a read and get familiar with the few regs there are.

I'm especially fond of
"Bury human waste in catholes 6-8 inches deep, at least 200 feet from water, camp, and trails. Don't bury toilet paper or hygiene products - carry a plastic bag and pack it out."
